Get moving to help feed Taronga Zoo animals

Ottomin Foundation members got moving in June creating a team in Run Wild for Taronga challenge.

Like most organisations, the Covid-19 lockdowns were tough for Taronga Zoo causing service disruption, loss of income and higher costs. That’s why Taronga called out to its supporters asking them to join their virtual marathon aptly named Run Wild for Taronga so to raise funds to support the care and feeding of Taronga’s animals.

The weekly food shop is significant for Taronga! It costs them around $35,000 a week to feed their animals across their two zoos. The Ottomin Foundationers team took up the challenge and got walking and jogging every day during the month of June. As well as the benefit of physical moving during the Sydney lockdown period, our team enjoyed the opportunity to again contribute to the worthy conservation work of Taronga zoo.
