Lou’s Closet – Women helping Women

It was another fabulous celebration of community and giving at the 2025 Lou’s Closet held in May at the Tramsheds, Glebe. Celebrating its fifteenth year, it was a gorgeous marketplace of designer and second-hand clothing available for sale to raise funds for the women who visit Lou’s Place in Redfern.

Lou’s Closet is the marquee annual fundraiser for Sydney’s only community-based day-time refugee for women. Lou’s Place provides free meals, drop-in services including legal and medical aid, individual case management and therapeutic group work programs. It is a low-barrier centre which means even if clients are still struggling with addiction and mental health issues they still will be welcomed.

Over the three days, the sale of good quality new and second-hand clothes raised $135,000, bringing the cumulative funds raised by Lou’s Closet over the past fifteen years to $985,000!

Congratulations to everyone involved and for making a difference to the community in the process.
